Control and Management

Tropical soda apple flowers and produces fruit throughout the year though it is concentrated from Sept.-May. One plant will produce 40,000-50,000 seeds with seed germination ranging from 75%-100%.

To effectively control TSA, you must control all existing plants in pastures, ditch banks, and hammock areas and permanently stop seed production, otherwise, the plant will continue to spread. Different methods are recommended based on the density of the coverage and where TSA is growing. Review the Control Strategies and Management Options for specific instructions, and remember...DO NOT ALLOW THE PLANT TO PRODUCE FRUIT!!!
